How this score is calculated
A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:
- Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
- Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
- Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
- Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
- Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).
Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.
Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

What is PayPal USD (PYUSD)?
PayPal USD (PYUSD) is a US dollar stablecoin created by PayPal and issued by Paxos Trust Company. PayPal launched it on 7 August 2023, and it started as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum before expanding to Solana in May 2024. It is designed to hold a value of one US dollar and to let people send, receive and spend digital dollars in a regulated setting.
What PYUSD is used for
- Sending dollars to friends, merchants and wallets.
- Paying for goods in apps that accept the stablecoin.
- Holding a dollar balance on supported blockchains and in DeFi.
- Settlement between businesses that already use PayPal tools.
Availability depends on region and account type, and PayPal has not offered every feature in every country. PYUSD is also useful as a neutral dollar unit for moving value between wallets, because it settles on public blockchains at any hour instead of on bank schedules.
PYUSD supply and token design
PYUSD has no fixed cap. Paxos issues new tokens when customers deposit dollars and removes tokens from circulation when they are redeemed. Paxos states that PYUSD is fully backed by US dollar deposits, short-term US Treasuries and similar cash equivalents. Paxos is a limited purpose trust company supervised by the New York State Department of Financial Services, and it publishes monthly reserve reports along with attestations from an independent accounting firm.
Besides Ethereum and Solana, PYUSD is available on additional networks such as Arbitrum, Polygon, Stellar, Ink and X Layer. Issuance and redemption is handled through Paxos, with PayPal serving as the consumer-facing brand. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.
Official information is on paypal.com.
What to check before using PYUSD
- The peg depends on Paxos reserves. Read the monthly reserve reports to see how the backing is held.
- PYUSD is issued by Paxos, not by PayPal itself, so the party holding your reserve claim differs from the brand you see in the app.
- Sending PYUSD on the wrong network can lose funds. A token on Ethereum cannot be sent to a Solana address.
- Features and eligibility vary by country, and some PayPal functions are limited to certain regions.
- Like other fiat-backed stablecoins, PYUSD can trade away from one dollar in stress, and it earns no yield by default.

PayPal USD market analysis
With a market capitalisation of $2.70 billion, PayPal USD (PYUSD) is classed as a mid-cap asset and ranks #37 of 1,342 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 97.2% of them. It accounts for roughly 0.10% of the combined tracked market value. Mid-cap assets sit between the established majors and the speculative long tail, so both growth and drawdowns can be sharp.
Over the last 24 hours roughly $88.01 million of PYUSD changed hands, equal to 3.25% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 96.9% of tracked assets. That is a moderate, fairly typical level of turnover. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 44% of tracked assets.
Price action: PYUSD moved +0.01% in 24 hours and +0.02% over 7 days. It outperformed Bitcoin by 1.71 percentage points over 24 hours and by 3.87 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (ahead by 2.14 points on the day and ahead by 6.15 points on the week), it has been a relative strength in recent sessions.
To overtake Quant (QNT) just above it, PayPal USD would need to grow its market cap by about 4.4%; it is 0.6% larger than Shiba Inu (SHIB) just below. Its market cap is 0.17% of Bitcoin's.
