How this score is calculated

A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:

  • Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
  • Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
  • Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
  • Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
  • Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).

Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.

Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

About Pi Network

What is Pi Network (PI)?

Pi Network is a mobile-first cryptocurrency project run by the Pi Core Team. Users, called Pioneers, signed up through a smartphone app and collected Pi by confirming activity in the app rather than by running power-hungry mining hardware. The network moved through an Enclosed Mainnet period beginning on 28 December 2021 and opened to external connectivity with the Open Network launch on 20 February 2025, which made PI transferable outside the Pi ecosystem.

How Pi Network works

Pi's consensus is based on the Stellar Consensus Protocol, a Federated Byzantine Agreement design, and not on proof of work. Participants build a trust graph of Security Circles that supports the network's security. Pi's whitepaper describes several ways to earn on mainnet:

  • Mining rewards for active participation in the app.
  • Additional rewards for locking Pi up for a period.
  • Rewards for running a node and for using apps in the Pi ecosystem.

Mined Pi can only be claimed inside the Pi app through the mainnet dashboard. Only accounts validated through Know Your Customer (KYC) checks as belonging to distinct real individuals have their balances honoured on mainnet, and balances from fake or duplicate accounts are discarded.

PI supply and token design

The whitepaper sets a maximum total supply of 100 billion Pi. The community is allocated 80% and the Pi Core Team 20%. Within the community share, 65 billion is reserved for mining rewards, 10 billion for community and ecosystem building, and 5 billion for liquidity pools. Before mainnet, mining rates halved as the user base grew and supply was not capped. The whitepaper itself says the token model may be adjusted and that readers should follow the latest official communications. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.

Pi publishes a block explorer and developer documentation for its platform, including tools for apps that accept Pi. The project describes its goal as making participation accessible on ordinary phones, but the practical usefulness of Pi depends on how many apps, merchants and venues accept it.

Official information is on minepi.com.

What to check before using PI

  • Migration to mainnet depends on KYC. Unverified balances may not migrate.
  • The Core Team holds 20% of the maximum supply, and a large amount of Pi remains to be released through rewards, so supply dynamics matter.
  • Scams around Pi are common, including fake apps, fake wallets and impersonators selling Pi or promising early access. Use only the official app and domain.
  • Whitepaper terms can change, so rely on current official announcements rather than older documents.
  • Check which exchanges or venues support PI deposits and withdrawals, and never share recovery phrases.

Pi Network market analysis

With a market capitalisation of $866.63 million, Pi Network (PI) is classed as a small-cap asset and ranks #83 of 1,340 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 93.8% of them. It accounts for roughly 0.03% of the combined tracked market value. Small-cap assets can move quickly on news or exchange listings, and liquidity can thin out fast in sell-offs.

Over the last 24 hours roughly $2.57 million of PI changed hands, equal to 0.30% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 69.9% of tracked assets. Trading activity is very low relative to market cap, which usually points to poor liquidity. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 13% of tracked assets.

Price action: PI moved −1.79% in 24 hours and +0.39% over 7 days. It outperformed Bitcoin by 0.42 percentage points over 24 hours and by 4.52 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (ahead by 0.49 points on the day and ahead by 6.60 points on the week), it has been a relative strength in recent sessions.

To overtake Kaspa (KAS) just above it, Pi Network would need to grow its market cap by about 0.7%; it is 4.8% larger than Algorand (ALGO) just below. Its market cap is 0.06% of Bitcoin's.
