ⓘ Circulating · Total supply · Max supply
Circulating supply: coins currently available to trade, as reported by the data provider.
Total supply: coins created so far, minus any burned. It includes locked or not-yet-released coins.
Max supply: the hard cap on coins that can ever exist. Shown as “No max supply” when the protocol sets no cap.
CryptoWave Health score
Five measurable signals. Each ring segment’s length is its weight; how full it is shows the score.
Volume is 3.07% of market cap. Normal turnover for its size.
$610.89M market cap, rank #98. Bigger is harder to push around.
100% of the total supply circulates. Little dilution ahead.
91.6% below its all-time high of $3.86.
Largest recent swing: 2.36% a day. Moderate.
Describes market structure today. Not a price forecast and not investment advice.
How this score is calculated
A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:
- Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
- Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
- Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
- Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
- Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).
Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.
Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

What is Stacks (STX)?
Stacks is a Bitcoin layer that brings smart contracts and decentralised applications to Bitcoin without changing Bitcoin itself. The project grew out of Blockstack, and STX is its native token. Stacks is a separate chain whose history is anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain, and it uses a mechanism called Proof of Transfer (PoX).
How Stacks works
In Proof of Transfer, miners spend Bitcoin to compete for the right to produce Stacks blocks. Holders who lock up STX, known as stackers, earn those BTC payouts as a reward. Rewards are therefore paid in Bitcoin rather than newly created STX.
The Nakamoto release, a hard fork, changed how the network confirms transactions. Blocks are produced at a steady pace, so transactions confirm in seconds rather than tens of minutes. Stackers validate and sign each block, and reversing a confirmed transaction is designed to be at least as hard as reversing a Bitcoin one. A chain reorganisation would require approval from 70% of stackers.
- Smart contracts: written in Clarity, a language designed to be readable and predictable.
- sBTC: a Bitcoin-backed asset on Stacks, secured by stackers acting as signers.
- Fees: STX is used to pay transaction fees and to stack.
STX supply and token design
STX has no fixed maximum supply. The Stacks Foundation describes emission as open-ended, following a predictable schedule that community governance can adjust. Older materials cite about 1.82 billion as a ceiling, but that figure is outdated.
Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page. Rather than a single contract, the native token runs on the Stacks chain itself, so you can follow transactions in the Stacks explorer.
Official information is on stacks.co.
Because Stacks settles to Bitcoin, it appeals to users who want smart contract features while staying close to the Bitcoin network. Developers can read the official docs for the details of signers, stacking cycles and sBTC.
What to check before using STX
- Open-ended supply: emissions can be changed by governance, so supply rules are not permanent.
- Lock-up when stacking: STX locked for stacking cannot be moved until the cycle ends.
- Bridge and signer risk: sBTC relies on a signer set and bridge design that carry their own risks.
- Dependency on Bitcoin: Stacks security and rewards depend on Bitcoin miners and BTC activity.
- Rebrands and old data: the project was renamed from Blockstack, and older tutorials and listings may be outdated.

Stacks market analysis
With a market capitalisation of $610.89 million, Stacks (STX) is classed as a small-cap asset and ranks #98 of 1,340 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 92.7% of them. It accounts for roughly 0.02% of the combined tracked market value. Small-cap assets can move quickly on news or exchange listings, and liquidity can thin out fast in sell-offs.
Over the last 24 hours roughly $18.73 million of STX changed hands, equal to 3.07% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 91.6% of tracked assets. That is a moderate, fairly typical level of turnover. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 43% of tracked assets.
Price action: STX moved −1.94% in 24 hours and +6.14% over 7 days. It outperformed Bitcoin by 0.27 percentage points over 24 hours and by 10.27 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (ahead by 0.34 points on the day and ahead by 12.36 points on the week), it has been a relative strength in recent sessions.
To overtake XDC Network (XDC) just above it, Stacks would need to grow its market cap by about 0.4%; it is 3.1% larger than Dash (DASH) just below. Its market cap is 0.04% of Bitcoin's.
