What is SOON (SOON)?
SOON is a project that builds rollups using the Solana Virtual Machine, or SVM. Its documentation calls it a high-performance SVM rollup meant to realize a "Super Adoption Stack". Instead of running as a separate base chain, SOON separates Solana's execution environment from Solana's consensus so it can run on top of another network. SOON is the native token of the project. The token generation took place in 2025, followed by exchange listings that year.
How SOON works
The project has three main products:
- SOON Mainnet is a general-purpose Layer 2 that settles on Ethereum, with an execution layer powered by a decoupled SVM.
- SOON Stack lets teams deploy their own SVM Layer 2 chains, called SOON Chains, on a base Layer 1. It currently supports Ethereum for settlement and Avail for data availability.
- InterSOON is a cross-chain messaging protocol connecting SOON Mainnet, SOON Stack chains and other Layer 1 networks, with messaging powered by Hyperlane.
The documentation links to security audit reports from Beosin and BlockSec. The core design ideas are the decoupled SVM, Merklization and horizontal scaling. The project is aimed at developers and chain builders more than everyday users.
SOON supply and token design
SOON has an inflation model intended to fund staking and ecosystem incentives, so it does not have a fixed maximum supply. Initial allocations went to the community, ecosystem, team and co-builders, the foundation treasury and participants in the earlier NFT sale.
