ⓘ Circulating · Total supply · Max supply
Circulating supply: coins currently available to trade, as reported by the data provider.
Total supply: coins created so far, minus any burned. It includes locked or not-yet-released coins.
Max supply: the hard cap on coins that can ever exist. Shown as “No max supply” when the protocol sets no cap.
CryptoWave Health score
Five measurable signals. Each ring segment’s length is its weight; how full it is shows the score.
Volume is 16.75% of market cap. Trades easily.
$145.50M market cap, rank #222. Bigger is harder to push around.
100% of the total supply circulates. Little dilution ahead.
96.4% below its all-time high of $1.03.
Largest recent swing: 7.67% a day. Volatile.
Describes market structure today. Not a price forecast and not investment advice.
How this score is calculated
A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:
- Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
- Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
- Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
- Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
- Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).
Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.
Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

What is Sonic (S)?
Sonic is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built by Sonic Labs as the successor to Fantom. The Sonic mainnet went live in December 2024, and holders of the old FTM token could convert to S at a 1:1 ratio through an official migration contract. Sonic supports Solidity and Vyper contracts, so apps written for Ethereum's virtual machine can be deployed with little change.
What S is used for
S is the native token of the network. It has several roles:
- Transaction fees: users pay gas in S.
- Staking and security: validators and delegators stake S. Withdrawing staked S takes 14 days, and validator penalties can also affect delegators.
- Governance: S holders take part in network decisions.
- Developer rewards: under Fee Monetization, 90% of the gas fees generated by an application go to that application's developers, and 10% go to validators.
Sonic Gateway is the native bridge between Ethereum and Sonic. It uses Merkle proofs to verify transfers, and it includes a fail-safe that lets users reclaim bridged assets on Ethereum if the system is down for 14 consecutive days.
S supply and token design
S has no fixed maximum supply. The initial supply came from the 1:1 FTM conversion. Block rewards were migrated from Fantom Opera to Sonic, so for the first four years roughly 70 million tokens per year are redirected to Sonic validators instead of being newly created. After that period, new issuance resumes at 1.75% per year. The base fee is not burned, so fees do not reduce supply.
A separate allocation of 190.5 million S was set aside for an airdrop, issued in phases. Early claimants who do not wait out the 270-day maturation period forfeit part of their share, and the forfeited portion is burned. Further S has also been approved by governance for ecosystem funding. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.
Official information is on soniclabs.com.
What to check before using S
- Several old Fantom-era tokens and contracts still exist. Make sure you hold S or a clearly labelled bridged asset, not a lookalike.
- Issuance is not capped, and additional S can be released through governance-approved allocations, which can dilute holders.
- Staking has a 14-day withdrawal period, so staked funds are not instantly liquid.
- Bridged assets carry bridge risk. The Gateway fail-safe covers only assets moved through the Gateway, not third-party bridges.
- Performance figures published by the project are targets and claims, so test with small amounts first.

Sonic market analysis
With a market capitalisation of $145.50 million, Sonic (S) is classed as a small-cap asset and ranks #222 of 1,340 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 83.4% of them. It accounts for roughly under 0.01% of the combined tracked market value. Small-cap assets can move quickly on news or exchange listings, and liquidity can thin out fast in sell-offs.
Over the last 24 hours roughly $24.37 million of S changed hands, equal to 16.75% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 93.4% of tracked assets. That is an active level of turnover for an asset of this size. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 78% of tracked assets.
Price action: S moved −4.65% in 24 hours and −19.95% over 7 days. It underperformed Bitcoin by 2.44 percentage points over 24 hours and by 15.82 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (behind by 2.38 points on the day and behind by 13.74 points on the week), it has been a relative laggard in recent sessions.
To overtake Stargate Finance (STG) just above it, Sonic would need to grow its market cap by about 0.2%; it is 0.0% larger than MX (MX) just below. Its market cap is under 0.01% of Bitcoin's.

Sonic FAQ
What is Sonic (S)?
Sonic is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain from Sonic Labs, the successor to Fantom. S is its native token for gas, staking and governance.
How did FTM become S?
After Sonic launched in December 2024, FTM could be converted to S at a 1:1 ratio through an official migration contract. Exchanges later handled the conversion for their users.
What is S used for?
S pays transaction fees, is staked to secure the network and takes part in governance. Developers also earn 90% of the gas fees their apps generate.
Is there a maximum supply of S?
No fixed cap is set. New inflation of 1.75% per year begins after the first four years of validator rewards, and governance can approve further allocations.
