How this score is calculated

A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:

  • Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
  • Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
  • Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
  • Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
  • Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).

Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.

Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

About Metronome Synth USD

What is Metronome Synth USD (msUSD)?

Metronome Synth USD (msUSD) is a synthetic US dollar token issued by Metronome Synth, a multi-collateral, multi-synthetic protocol. Users deposit supported crypto assets as collateral and mint synthetic tokens that follow the price of another asset. The synths carry an "ms" prefix, such as msETH, msBTC and msUSD. The protocol came from the Bloq DeFi team and the earlier Metronome project, which raised funds in a 2018 ICO. Metronome Synth launched in beta in January 2023 and went to full launch after audits by Halborn and Quantstamp.

How msUSD works

msUSD is created, not issued against a bank balance. A user deposits collateral, which can include stablecoins, BTC, ETH and yield-bearing tokens, and then mints msUSD within a collateral limit. Each collateral type has its own collateralization ratio and liquidation penalty. A position that falls below its threshold can be liquidated.

Metronome's Smart Farming feature lets users loop yield-bearing collateral, such as Vesper vault tokens, into msUSD to raise returns. This increases both potential yield and liquidation risk.

msUSD uses LayerZero OFT technology so that it can move between chains without a separate wrapped version on each one.

msUSD supply and token design

There is no fixed cap. Supply expands when users mint against collateral and contracts when it is repaid or liquidated. msUSD is not redeemable with a bank or an issuer; its dollar value relies on collateral, the protocol's pricing and market arbitrage. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.

The token exists on Ethereum, Base, Optimism and Plasma. The Ethereum contract address is 0xab5eb14c09d416f0ac63661e57edb7aecdb9befa; confirm it on the official site before interacting.

Official information is on metronome.io.

What to check before using msUSD

  • msUSD is a synthetic dollar, not a fiat-backed stablecoin, and it can trade below one dollar if confidence or collateral weakens.
  • Synthetic assets depend on collateral and price feeds; check the protocol's current collateral status and announcements before using the token.
  • Oracle delays, liquidation mechanics and smart contract bugs can each cause losses, even after audits.
  • Looped Smart Farming positions can be liquidated quickly during sharp price moves.
  • Liquidity can be shallow across chains, which can widen the gap between the market price and one dollar.

Metronome Synth USD market analysis

With a market capitalisation of $43.75 million, Metronome Synth USD (MSUSD) is classed as a micro-cap asset and ranks #353 of 406 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 13.1% of them. It accounts for roughly under 0.01% of the combined tracked market value. Micro-cap assets are thinly traded in most cases: a modest order can move the price and spreads are often wide.

Over the last 24 hours roughly $994.7 thousand of MSUSD changed hands, equal to 2.27% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 37.2% of tracked assets. That is a moderate, fairly typical level of turnover. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 51% of tracked assets.

Price action: MSUSD moved −1.96% in 24 hours and −3.02% over 7 days. It outperformed Bitcoin by 0.22 percentage points over 24 hours and by 0.57 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (ahead by 0.04 points on the day and ahead by 1.48 points on the week), it has been a relative strength in recent sessions.

To overtake BIM (BIM) just above it, Metronome Synth USD would need to grow its market cap by about 1.0%; it is 0.4% larger than Open Campus (EDU) just below. Its market cap is under 0.01% of Bitcoin's.
