Circulating supply: coins currently available to trade, as reported by the data provider.

Total supply: coins created so far, minus any burned. It includes locked or not-yet-released coins.

Max supply: the hard cap on coins that can ever exist. Shown as “No max supply” when the protocol sets no cap.

How this score is calculated

A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:

  • Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
  • Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
  • Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
  • Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
  • Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).

Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.

Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

About Metal Blockchain

What is Metal Blockchain (METAL)?

Metal Blockchain is a Layer 0 network aimed at financial institutions and fintech companies. METAL is its native token. The network is developed by Metallicus, Inc., a company that says it has worked with digital assets since 2009, and it is built around compliance features such as BSA-ready tooling, digital identity and private subnet architecture.

METAL is separate from MTL, the token of Metal DAO, although MTL holders were offered a conversion into METAL at launch. The two tokens have different roles and should not be confused.

How Metal Blockchain works

The network uses a subnet design in which separate chains can run alongside the main network. Its primary chains are:

  • A-Chain, based on Antelope, for payments, DeFi and applications.
  • C-Chain, which is EVM-compatible and runs Solidity smart contracts.
  • P-Chain, which coordinates validators and staking and tracks subnets.
  • X-Chain, which handles asset creation, exchange and cross-subnet transfers.

The network uses proof-of-stake consensus. Validators run nodes and need at least 2,000 METAL, while delegators assign their stake to an existing validator without running a node. Staking periods run from two weeks to 52 weeks, and rewards are variable. Other subnets can also choose METAL as their native token.

METAL supply and token design

METAL has a hard cap of 666,666,666 tokens. Metallicus describes the allocation as follows:

  • 333,333,333 METAL for staking rewards, released on a sliding scale over a long period.
  • 142,333,333 METAL for the Metal Foundation, to fund development and network growth.
  • 120,000,000 METAL reserved for the MTL conversion.
  • 71,000,000 METAL for founders, vesting over 12 months.

Transaction fees are paid in METAL and are burned, which reduces supply over time. On the C-Chain the base fee rises when usage is above target and falls when it is below. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.

Official information is on metalblockchain.org.

What to check before using METAL

  • Do not confuse METAL with MTL. They are different tokens on different networks, and exchanges list them separately.
  • Staking locks tokens for a fixed period, and rewards are variable rather than guaranteed.
  • The network targets regulated and institutional use, so adoption depends on partnerships and compliance demand that are slow to develop.
  • Part of the supply is still being released through staking rewards and vesting, which adds new tokens to the market over time.
  • METAL exists as a native token and in bridged or wrapped forms, so check which network a deposit address uses.

Metal Blockchain market analysis

With a market capitalisation of $52.24 million, Metal Blockchain (METAL) is classed as a micro-cap asset and ranks #330 of 402 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 17.9% of them. It accounts for roughly under 0.01% of the combined tracked market value. Micro-cap assets are thinly traded in most cases: a modest order can move the price and spreads are often wide.

Over the last 24 hours roughly $376.6 thousand of METAL changed hands, equal to 0.72% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 28.4% of tracked assets. That is a quiet level of turnover, so large orders may meet limited depth. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 33% of tracked assets.

Price action: METAL moved −2.08% in 24 hours and +1.28% over 7 days. It underperformed Bitcoin by 0.02 percentage points over 24 hours but outperformed it by 5.14 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (behind by 0.10 points on the day and ahead by 5.94 points on the week), it has been a relative strength in recent sessions.

To overtake USDu (USDU) just above it, Metal Blockchain would need to grow its market cap by about 0.1%; it is 0.5% larger than Precious Metals USD (PMUSD) just below. Its market cap is under 0.01% of Bitcoin's.

Metal Blockchain is a Layer 0 network built by Metallicus for financial institutions and fintechs. METAL is its native token, used for fees and staking.

What is METAL used for?

METAL pays transaction fees, is staked by validators and delegators to secure the network, and can serve as the native token of other subnets.

How many METAL tokens are there?

The supply is capped at 666,666,666 METAL. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.

Is METAL the same as MTL?

No. MTL is the Metal DAO token, while METAL is the native token of Metal Blockchain. MTL holders could convert to METAL when the network launched.
