ⓘ Circulating · Total supply · Max supply
Circulating supply: coins currently available to trade, as reported by the data provider.
Total supply: coins created so far, minus any burned. It includes locked or not-yet-released coins.
Max supply: the hard cap on coins that can ever exist. Shown as “No max supply” when the protocol sets no cap.
CryptoWave Health score
Five measurable signals. Each ring segment’s length is its weight; how full it is shows the score.
Volume is 0.95% of market cap. Thin trading; small orders can move the price.
$91.74B market cap, rank #4. Bigger is harder to push around.
66% of the maximum supply circulates. Little dilution ahead.
49.1% below its all-time high of $1,369.99.
Largest recent swing: 2.37% a day. Moderate.
Describes market structure today. Not a price forecast and not investment advice.
How this score is calculated
A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:
- Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
- Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
- Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
- Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
- Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).
Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.
Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

What is BNB (BNB)?
BNB is the native token of the BNB Chain ecosystem and began as the utility token of the Binance exchange. It launched in July 2017 as Binance Coin, initially as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and later moved to Binance's own chains. In February 2022 the token and the chain were renamed BNB and BNB Chain. BNB Smart Chain, launched in September 2020, is an EVM-compatible network, so it supports Ethereum wallets and developer tools.
BNB Smart Chain uses Proof of Staked Authority, a model that combines delegated proof of stake with a limited set of validators chosen by the amount of BNB bonded to them. Its documentation describes a block time of 0.45 seconds on mainnet.
What BNB is used for
- Paying gas fees for transactions and smart contracts on BNB Smart Chain.
- Staking to validators to help secure the network and earn a share of fees.
- Taking part in on-chain governance proposals.
- Trading fee discounts and other benefits on the Binance exchange, and use as collateral and liquidity in DeFi applications on the chain.
BNB supply and token design
BNB's total supply was set at 200,000,000 tokens, and that is its maximum. Supply only goes down from there. Binance committed to quarterly burns until 100 million BNB, half of the original supply, have been destroyed. The size of each quarterly burn is calculated from the BNB price and the number of blocks produced in the quarter. Separately, BEP-95 burns a portion of gas fees in real time, and that mechanism continues regardless of the 100 million target. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.
The original Ethereum token contract is 0xb8c77482e45f1f44de1745f52c74426c631bdd52. Most activity now takes place on BNB Chain.
Official information is on bnbchain.org.
What to check before using BNB
- BNB's utility is closely tied to Binance and BNB Chain, so exchange-specific events can affect it.
- The validator set is small compared with many other networks, and BNB Chain has been criticised as centralised.
- In October 2022 BNB Chain suffered an exploit that affected roughly $568 million in tokens; cross-chain bridges remain a common point of failure.
- BNB exists on several networks, so confirm which chain and address you are using before sending funds.
- Many tokens and DeFi apps on BNB Chain are small and unaudited; scams and rug pulls are common there.

BNB market analysis
With a market capitalisation of $91.74 billion, BNB (BNB) is classed as a large-cap asset and ranks #4 of 1,342 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 99.7% of them. It accounts for roughly 3.41% of the combined tracked market value. Large-cap assets tend to be more liquid and less prone to single-trade price swings than smaller tokens.
Over the last 24 hours roughly $874.93 million of BNB changed hands, equal to 0.95% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 99.4% of tracked assets. That is a quiet level of turnover, so large orders may meet limited depth. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 23% of tracked assets.
Price action: BNB moved −2.08% in 24 hours and −6.17% over 7 days. It underperformed Bitcoin by 0.38 percentage points over 24 hours and by 2.32 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (ahead by 0.04 points on the day and behind by 0.04 points on the week), it has been a relative strength in recent sessions.
To overtake Tether (USDT) just above it, BNB would need to grow its market cap by about 95.0%; it is 15.7% larger than XRP (XRP) just below. Its market cap is 5.92% of Bitcoin's.
