ⓘ Circulating · Total supply · Max supply
Circulating supply: coins currently available to trade, as reported by the data provider.
Total supply: coins created so far, minus any burned. It includes locked or not-yet-released coins.
Max supply: the hard cap on coins that can ever exist. Shown as “No max supply” when the protocol sets no cap.
CryptoWave Health score
Five measurable signals. Each ring segment’s length is its weight; how full it is shows the score.
Volume is 1.08% of market cap. Thin trading; small orders can move the price.
$49.49M market cap, rank #339. Bigger is harder to push around.
88% of the maximum supply circulates. Little dilution ahead.
98.7% below its all-time high of $0.4216.
Largest recent swing: 4.95% a day. Moderate.
Describes market structure today. Not a price forecast and not investment advice.
How this score is calculated
A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:
- Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
- Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
- Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
- Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
- Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).
Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.
Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

What is Astar (ASTR)?
Astar Network began as Plasm Network and was renamed Astar in 2021. It is developed by Stake Technologies, whose CEO Sota Watanabe is the project's founder. Astar won a Polkadot parachain slot auction and went live as a Polkadot parachain in December 2021, with its public mainnet opening in early 2022. ASTR is its native token. The project's current documentation describes Astar as a collective that builds products to bring users onchain, with ASTR used for governance and economic coordination across chains such as Ethereum and Base.
What ASTR is used for
The official token documentation lists three uses:
- dApp staking: a share of block inflation is distributed to dApp developers and to the stakers who back them, which is meant to reward builders for useful applications.
- Transaction fees: senders pay fees in ASTR for onchain transactions.
- Governance: holders vote on referenda and proposals that shape network parameters and treasury spending.
The project's current documentation highlights Astar Fi, a hub for saving, earning and managing digital assets, and Astar Guard, a tool that monitors risk and sends safety alerts.
ASTR supply and token design
The initial supply was 7 billion ASTR with 18 decimals. The model is inflationary: new tokens are issued each year to fund staking and developer rewards, while part of every transaction fee is burned and the remainder goes to the block collator. The genesis allocation was split across users and early supporters (30%), the 2021 parachain auction (20%), protocol development (10%), early financial backers (10%), the foundation (10%), an auction reserve (5%), an onchain DAO (5%), marketing (5%) and the team (5%). Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.
ASTR is also available as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum at 0xf27441230eadeac85b764610325cc9a0d7859689. Sibling networks use separate tokens, such as SDN for Shiden.
Official information is on astar.network.
What to check before using ASTR
- Inflation: newly issued ASTR is paid out each year, which can dilute holders who do not stake.
- Strategy shifts: the project has moved from a Polkadot-centred parachain toward a multi-chain approach, so older guides may describe features that have changed.
- Token versions: ASTR exists natively and as an Ethereum token. Confirm the network before transferring.
- Staking terms: dApp staking has lock and unlock rules, so check them before committing tokens.
- Developer activity: returns from dApp staking depend on the quality and adoption of the applications on the network.

Astar market analysis
With a market capitalisation of $49.49 million, Astar (ASTR) is classed as a micro-cap asset and ranks #339 of 402 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 15.7% of them. It accounts for roughly under 0.01% of the combined tracked market value. Micro-cap assets are thinly traded in most cases: a modest order can move the price and spreads are often wide.
Over the last 24 hours roughly $533.9 thousand of ASTR changed hands, equal to 1.08% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 31.1% of tracked assets. That is a quiet level of turnover, so large orders may meet limited depth. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 37% of tracked assets.
Price action: ASTR moved −2.62% in 24 hours and −12.88% over 7 days. It underperformed Bitcoin by 0.94 percentage points over 24 hours and by 8.63 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (behind by 1.06 points on the day and behind by 7.99 points on the week), it has been a relative laggard in recent sessions.
To overtake NVIDIA (bStocks Tokenized Stock) (NVDAB) just above it, Astar would need to grow its market cap by about 0.1%; it is 1.6% larger than Brazilian Digital (BRZ) just below. Its market cap is under 0.01% of Bitcoin's.
