Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Lose $548.5 Million in a Week as Solana Outflow Streak Hits 10 Days

U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs shed about $548.5 million in the week to October 16, easing from the prior week, while spot Solana funds logged a tenth straight session of net outflows.

U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds recorded combined net outflows of about $548.5 million in the five trading sessions from October 12 to October 16, 2026, according to crypto.news, which compiled daily Farside Investors tables. Spot Solana funds also kept bleeding, with withdrawals on every session since October 5. The numbers were smaller than the previous week but still show investors reducing exposure.

What the fund data shows

Ether products led the exits. U.S. spot Ether ETFs lost about $320.1 million over the week, while spot Bitcoin ETFs lost about $228.4 million. BlackRock's ETHA accounted for roughly $299 million of the Ether total, around 93 percent of the category's net outflow.

The week was not uniformly negative. Bitcoin funds took in about $175.7 million on Tuesday, October 13, and Ether funds added roughly $24.8 million that day. Those gains were outweighed by heavier selling on Wednesday and Friday.

The combined $548.5 million was about 55 percent below the roughly $1.22 billion that left the same two fund groups in the week of October 5 to 9. The pace of redemptions therefore slowed, but the direction did not change.

Solana funds extend their streak

U.S. spot Solana ETFs have now posted net outflows on ten consecutive sessions, starting October 5. The first week, October 5 to 9, saw about $25 million leave, ending a 14-week run of inflows. The October 12 to 16 week added about $25.5 million. Taken together, that is close to $50 million over two weeks.

Flow figures vary slightly between data providers. Farside and SoSoValue reported marginally different totals for the first week, and daily counts of the streak differ between outlets, so these should be read as approximate.

Why money is leaving

The backdrop is tighter expectations for U.S. monetary policy. September consumer prices came in hotter than forecast, with annual inflation reaching 3.7 percent, and traders raised their odds that the Federal Reserve keeps policy tight for longer. CryptoWave covered that data release separately. Risk assets broadly were weaker over the week, and ETF flows tend to reflect that mood quickly because shares can be redeemed daily.

It is worth separating ETF flows from total demand. Fund flows measure creations and redemptions of fund shares in the U.S. market. They do not capture spot exchange trading, derivatives positioning or activity outside the U.S.

Global figures from CoinShares point the same way. The asset manager's weekly market update put net outflows from digital-asset investment products at $434 million for the week to October 16. Its head of research, James Butterfill, described the move as a "clear deterioration in sentiment." The global total and the U.S. ETF tally cover different scopes, so they should not be compared directly.

Market reaction

CryptoWave data shows Bitcoin at about $82,537, up 1.11 percent over 24 hours. Ether trades near $2,423, up 0.53 percent, and Solana near $105.30, up 1.72 percent. The modest daily gains show prices stabilising while fund redemptions continue.

Sentiment has cooled from last week. The Fear & Greed Index reads 59, in the Greed zone, down from 69 a week ago.

What to watch next

  • Daily ETF flow tables from Farside and SoSoValue, to see whether Solana's outflow streak ends and whether Bitcoin and Ether funds return to net inflows.
  • CoinShares' next weekly fund-flow update, due next Monday.
  • The Federal Reserve's policy decision on October 28.
