Evernorth Names Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo to Deploy 473 Million XRP

Nasdaq-listed Evernorth said on 14 October it will begin deploying its 473 million XRP treasury in the fourth quarter, starting with four institutional partners.

Evernorth, the Nasdaq-listed XRP treasury company trading as XRPN, said on 14 October 2026 that Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo will be its first institutional partners as it begins deploying part of its 473 million XRP holdings, according to The Block.

What happened

The company plans to start putting the treasury to work in institutional strategies during the fourth quarter of 2026. The stated aim is to generate returns on the tokens and grow XRP held per share, rather than simply stockpile more of them. Evernorth did not say how much of the 473 million XRP would be deployed, and the plan is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

The holdings were valued at roughly $648 million when the news broke. Chief executive Asheesh Birla summed up the move by saying "We're putting our treasury to work." Hugo Jeandesboz, a former co-chief investment officer at Coinbase Asset Management who was named chief investment officer on 28 September, leads the strategy. He said the aim is a framework suitable for a public-company board to review.

Evernorth also intends to move into lending and credit strategies on the XRP Ledger once those services are live and have built a production track record. Its backers include Ripple, Pantera Capital, Kraken, SBI Group, Arrington Capital and GSR.

Why it matters

Digital-asset treasury companies have mostly been judged by how many tokens they hold. Evernorth's announcement shifts the question to what a holder does with the assets once they are bought. Deploying tokens through exchanges and custodians can earn yield, but it also introduces counterparty and operational risks that simple cold storage avoids.

The partner list is notable because it combines the issuer-linked company Ripple with two large exchanges and a regulated custodian. Evernorth said it chose them for their institutional infrastructure, licences, financial resources and asset-management experience.

The listing itself is recent. Evernorth completed its business combination with Armada Acquisition Corp. II on 9 October, raising about $300 million in gross cash proceeds before expenses, and shares started trading on Nasdaq shortly afterwards. The Block reported XRPN opened its first full trading week at $16.68 and closed at $16.48 on 13 October, so the stock moved little around the announcement.

Treasury strategies like this one are also being watched by the wider XRP community because they tie a listed company's results to the token. If Evernorth earns yield, the income would be paid in a token whose price can swing sharply, and a decline in XRP would reduce the dollar value of both the treasury and any returns. The company has not disclosed target yields, leverage or the proportion of tokens that will be committed to each partner.

Market reaction

CryptoWave data shows XRP at about $1.27 with a market capitalisation of $80.35 billion, and a 24-hour trading volume of $823 million. The token remains about 65% below its all-time high of $3.65 set in July 2025. Evernorth's 473 million XRP equates to under 1% of the circulating supply of roughly 63 billion tokens.

Wider markets were soft, with sentiment cooling to a neutral reading of 53 on the Fear and Greed Index, down from 61 a week earlier. Investors tracking how XRP compares with other large assets can use the market dominance page.

What to watch next

  • Fourth quarter 2026: the scheduled start of Evernorth's institutional deployment strategies.
  • Disclosures on how much XRP is deployed, and with which partners.
  • Lending and credit products on the XRP Ledger, which Evernorth says will follow once they are operating.
