ⓘ Circulating · Total supply · Max supply
Circulating supply: coins currently available to trade, as reported by the data provider.
Total supply: coins created so far, minus any burned. It includes locked or not-yet-released coins.
Max supply: the hard cap on coins that can ever exist. Shown as “No max supply” when the protocol sets no cap.
CryptoWave Health score
Five measurable signals. Each ring segment’s length is its weight; how full it is shows the score.
Volume is 5.53% of market cap. Trades easily.
$72.16M market cap, rank #302. Bigger is harder to push around.
67% of the maximum supply circulates. Little dilution ahead.
99.4% below its all-time high of $1.66.
Largest recent swing: 5.46% a day. Moderate.
Describes market structure today. Not a price forecast and not investment advice.
How this score is calculated
A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:
- Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
- Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
- Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
- Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
- Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).
Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.
Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

What is Wormhole (W)?
Wormhole is a cross-chain messaging protocol that lets applications send tokens and data between different blockchains. It first connected Ethereum and Solana and now links dozens of networks, including Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain and Avalanche. Wormhole is maintained by the Wormhole Foundation, and its code is open source on GitHub.
W is the protocol's governance token. It was introduced in 2024, together with an airdrop to community members, as the network moved toward on-chain governance by token holders.
How Wormhole works
Wormhole relies on a set of Guardian nodes that observe events on connected chains and sign messages attesting to them. A destination chain accepts a message once enough Guardians have signed. Applications build on this messaging layer to move assets and trigger actions across chains.
- Messaging and Connect: developer tools for cross-chain calls and embedded bridging.
- Native Token Transfers (NTT): a standard that lets a token keep the same native form on each chain, instead of becoming a wrapped copy.
- Portal: a multichain app for token transfers and swaps between chains.
- Queries and Settlement: additional products for reading cross-chain data and routing transfers.
What W is used for
W gives holders a say in the Wormhole DAO. Token-holder decisions are intended to cover adding or removing chain connections, upgrading contracts, adjusting fees, changing the Guardian set and setting rate limits.
W supply and token design
The maximum supply is 10 billion W. At launch, the allocation was split into six categories: ecosystem and incubation at 31 percent, foundation treasury at 23.3 percent, community and launch at 17 percent, core contributors at 12 percent, strategic network participants at 11.6 percent and Guardian nodes at 5.1 percent. A large share began locked and unlocks over time. A later update, called W 2.0, replaced the large annual unlock events with smaller bi-weekly unlocks for most categories, although core contributor tokens keep their original annual schedule.
W is issued as a native ERC-20 token on Ethereum-compatible chains and as an SPL token on Solana, using Wormhole's own Native Token Transfer standard. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.
Official information is on wormhole.com.
What to check before using W
- Scheduled unlocks add tokens to the market over time, so review the current unlock schedule in the official materials.
- Cross-chain bridges concentrate value and have been targets for attackers across the industry. Protocol security depends on the Guardian set and contract upgrades.
- W is a governance token, and token demand does not necessarily rise with bridging volume.
- The same token exists on several chains. Verify the contract address for the network you are using.
- Token allocations are concentrated in foundation and ecosystem categories, which are controlled by the project.

Wormhole market analysis
With a market capitalisation of $72.16 million, Wormhole (W) is classed as a micro-cap asset and ranks #302 of 402 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 24.9% of them. It accounts for roughly under 0.01% of the combined tracked market value. Micro-cap assets are thinly traded in most cases: a modest order can move the price and spreads are often wide.
Over the last 24 hours roughly $3.99 million of W changed hands, equal to 5.53% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 50.0% of tracked assets. That is a moderate, fairly typical level of turnover. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 75% of tracked assets.
Price action: W moved −4.72% in 24 hours and −14.20% over 7 days. It underperformed Bitcoin by 2.66 percentage points over 24 hours and by 10.34 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (behind by 2.74 points on the day and behind by 9.55 points on the week), it has been a relative laggard in recent sessions.
To overtake Tori trUSD (TRUSD) just above it, Wormhole would need to grow its market cap by about 0.1%; it is 0.8% larger than ORE (ORE) just below. Its market cap is under 0.01% of Bitcoin's.
