How this score is calculated

A weighted average of five signals computed from the market data on this page. Each signal is scored from 0 to 100:

  • Liquidity (25%): 24-hour trading volume divided by market cap.
  • Market depth (25%): market cap, on a logarithmic scale from $10 million to $1 trillion.
  • Supply (15%): circulating supply divided by max supply, or by total supply when there is no cap. More supply already in circulation scores higher.
  • Distance from peak (15%): the current price compared with the all-time high.
  • Stability (20%): the largest recent price swing among the 1-hour move (×3), the 24-hour move and the 7-day move (÷2.6).

Bands: 75 and above strong, 55–74 fair, 35–54 weak, below 35 fragile.

Limits: the score describes current market structure only. It is not a price forecast, an audit or investment advice, and it does not consider the team, code or token unlocks. A missing input counts as a neutral 50.

About Velodrome Finance

What is Velodrome Finance (VELO)?

Velodrome Finance is a decentralized exchange and liquidity protocol that launched on the Optimism network in June 2022. VELO is its governance token.

Velodrome uses a ve(3,3) design, which combines vote-escrowed tokens with incentive emissions. A V2 redesign followed in June 2023. In November 2025, Dromos Labs announced plans to merge Velodrome and its sister exchange Aerodrome into a single protocol called Aero with one token, so VELO holders should follow the official migration instructions. Until any migration completes, VELO continues to represent the Velodrome governance and emissions system described below. The Velodrome app and gauges remain the place where liquidity is incentivized and voted on, and the protocol's own pools are among the main venues for trading assets on Optimism.

How VELO works

Liquidity providers deposit tokens into pools and stake the pool tokens in gauges to earn VELO emissions. Where those emissions go is decided by voting, which is why projects often seek votes to attract liquidity for their own tokens:

  • Locking: VELO can be locked for up to four years to receive veVELO, which carries voting power.
  • Voting: veVELO holders vote weekly on which pools receive emissions.
  • Fees and bribes: voters receive the trading fees and incentives attached to the pools they back.
  • Rebase: locked holders receive a rebase meant to limit dilution from emissions.

VELO supply and token design

VELO has no fixed maximum supply, because new tokens are emitted weekly to liquidity providers under a schedule set by the protocol. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.

The VELO token contract on Optimism is 0x9560e827af36c94d2ac33a39bce1fe78631088db. Note that Velodrome is a different project from Velo Labs, which uses a similar ticker name.

Official information is on velodrome.finance.

What to check before using VELO

  • The planned merger into Aero changes how VELO is held and used. Follow official migration instructions and check for impersonation, since migration events attract phishing.
  • Emissions can dilute holders who do not lock their VELO, and long locks reduce liquidity.
  • Incentives drive much of the liquidity. When incentives drop, pool depth and volume can fall.
  • Pool tokens carry impermanent loss and smart contract risk, and some pools hold volatile or low-liquidity assets.
  • Locked positions cannot be exited quickly, so you cannot sell a veVELO lock before it ends.

Velodrome Finance market analysis

With a market capitalisation of $22.02 million, Velodrome Finance (VELO) is classed as a micro-cap asset and ranks #370 of 402 cryptocurrencies with a reported market cap on CryptoWave, larger than about 8.0% of them. It accounts for roughly under 0.01% of the combined tracked market value. Micro-cap assets are thinly traded in most cases: a modest order can move the price and spreads are often wide.

Over the last 24 hours roughly $172.5 thousand of VELO changed hands, equal to 0.78% of its market cap, which puts its trading volume ahead of about 23.4% of tracked assets. That is a quiet level of turnover, so large orders may meet limited depth. Its turnover ratio is higher than that of about 33% of tracked assets.

Price action: VELO moved −4.37% in 24 hours and −11.55% over 7 days. It underperformed Bitcoin by 2.31 percentage points over 24 hours and by 7.69 points over 7 days. Against the median tracked coin (behind by 2.40 points on the day and behind by 6.90 points on the week), it has been a relative laggard in recent sessions.

To overtake Quantus (QTC) just above it, Velodrome Finance would need to grow its market cap by about 0.5%; it is 0.7% larger than Axis Robotics (AXIS) just below. Its market cap is under 0.01% of Bitcoin's.
