What is Notcoin (NOT)?
Notcoin began as a viral tap-to-earn game on Telegram, built by the Open Builders team. Players earned in-game coins by tapping the screen, and those coins were later converted into NOT tokens at a ratio of 1,000 to 1. The game phase ended on 1 April 2024, and NOT started trading in mid-May 2024, with a Binance Launchpool opening on 13 May 2024. NOT is a jetton, the token standard of the TON blockchain, and sits alongside Telegram's wallet ecosystem.
What NOT is used for
Notcoin was designed to bring a very large audience into crypto through a simple game rather than to power a specific technical network. In practice the token is used as a community and ecosystem asset on TON:
- Holding and trading on exchanges and TON-based markets.
- Participation in campaigns and incentives within the TON and Telegram gaming ecosystem.
- Sending and receiving through TON wallets, including those inside Telegram.
It does not secure a blockchain on its own, and it has no fixed protocol role beyond what the community and the ecosystem build around it.
NOT supply and token design
At listing the total supply was 102,719,221,714 NOT, with distribution announced as follows:
- 78% to miners, meaning players of the game.
- 9% to an ecosystem fund.
- 5% to community incentives and 5% to development.
- 3% to the Binance Launchpool.
Most of the supply was therefore allocated to game players rather than sold to investors. Not every player claimed their tokens at once, so the distribution reached the market over time. Live circulating supply is shown in the market data on this page.
