HMSTR is the token of Hamster Kombat, a tap-to-earn game played inside Telegram. Players take the role of a crypto exchange CEO, upgrade cards that raise passive income, and complete daily combos and ciphers. The game grew to hundreds of millions of registered players during 2024, and the token was launched on The Open Network (TON) on 26 September 2024 together with an airdrop to qualifying players.
What HMSTR is used for
HMSTR began life as the in-game points balance converted into a tradable token. Its uses are tied mainly to the game and its community:
- Receiving airdrops and rewards distributed to players.
- Trading on centralized and decentralized exchanges that list the token.

The total supply is fixed at 100 billion HMSTR. The team allocated 60 billion tokens to the first airdrop and set aside a further 15 billion for a later season, which makes players the largest share of the supply by design. Of each qualifying player's first airdrop, 88.75 percent was claimable at launch and the remaining 11.25 percent unlocked ten months after the exchange listing. Only about 131 million of the game's registered users qualified, and the team banned about 2.3 million accounts for cheating.
